Mcstern ,the MPI , if it is the one I am thinking ( kevlar ) is very light, possibly lighter than the manners, but it does not seem to be so rigid and being less stock, it is not as easy to hold. When I compared my Manners MCST with the MPI, this one looked like a toy in front of a tank.

.. and you could also consider a straight .284 win. The 7mm 162g amax has an impressive BC, you will get longer barrel life also , and ballistics , based on this better BC, are also possibly better than in the 6,5-284.

Hello. The 6,5-284 with the amax 140 should get you well past 800 yds. The Berger is a tougher bullet in my experience, so for not heavier game I would use the amax, although its BC is lower than the berger´s. I have tried the berger in a red deer, dropped it in its tracks but it was a close...

The problem with the Hensoldt is the reticle. Unless I am wrong, they only offer a conventional mil dot, and the subtenssion of he crosshairs might be too wide for LR shooting at small targets, at least ion the higher power factors.

I know that Berger is now offering different styles, bt would be interested to know if the 140 g. 6,5 cal Berger VLD Hunting bullets are the same as the 140 VLD Target bullets?? External measurements are the same,, is construction also the same?? Cant get hold of the hunting ones.. Thanks
