Fixed Power Scopes

Who makes the best fixed power scopes? I've only seen to manufactures, Bushnell and Leupold.

My order of best down would be:
1. Schmidt and Bender
2. Swarovski
3. Zeiss
At the very top there is little to tell them apart. Cost is high but less prohibitive than their variable range.
Fixed power scopes have gone out of fashion lately and few are listed on store websites now. Variables have become more affordable and easier to make with new computer aided tooling and cheap Asian labour.
That said I like the fixed powers on my deer and pig rifles and would not change them for variables.

Thanks I've only seen one Zeiss and it was a 4X32.

Those high end scopes are very good. You get what you pay for. I have 2 6x42 and 1 6x32 Zeiss and love them. Very clear, very sturdy, very practical.
However I am seriously considering buying a Bushnell Elite Tactical 10x50, even though I dont have a rifle to put it on yet. It is dirt cheap ($249- Opticsplanet) and gets good reviews from buyers.
Ive not looked through one yet and I would like to compare it with the Zeiss.

I want something in the 6X42 for my 35 Whelen. The Elite is an option.

Thats funny Ive just finished getting my .35 Whelen ready for deer in New Zealand. It's a Martini Enfield with a 26" Douglas XX barrel and walnut stock. Has a Zeiss 6x42 Jena scope mounted on it and shoots like a dream. Except the recoil which was a bit fierce for my daughter on Monday. It got her in the forehead with the scope 3 times. She soldiered on and enjoyed hitting the steel plate with it at 60m.

I dont want to hyjack the thread so if you are wondering why/how it has a rim Ill post, but with your permission.

Meopta makes a Meopro 6x42 scope. I haven't looked through one, but the other Meopro scopes are excellent for the price.

Thanks for posting ,I can see where the little Martini would have some recoil. Go ahead and post how you made a rimed 35 Whelen.

I must have missed your reticle requirement. Anyways, if you navigate through the site, there are 3 reticle types.

I have an SWFA SS 10x42 and for $300 it's super hard to beat. Tough as nails and the adjustments are reliable and repeatable.

I'm interested in a duplex or wide G4. The one listed is too thick for my likes and the price jumps up on the other reticules.
