im getting one my question is i shoot fusions in my 30-06 cause they group best. im a shoulder buster will a cup and core like a power shok hold up at 25-06 speed less than 150 yards?i know stop shoulder busting but im getting older and dragging deer out of ravines or cutover is harder than it used to be and your buddies are always busy when you need help.

I got my father in law one two years ago and his shoots the nobler 115bt great. As far as shoulder shots I use 110 accubonds out of my 257 wby for close shots a. They group well and work fantastic on shoulder shots.

I haven't had a chance to shoot one with my .25-06 AI, but I have been shooting deer with a .257 Wby Mag since 2008. Up until this year, I've shot Accubonds, and they worked great. I try to shoot them behind the shoulder. Tends to ruin less meat.

Now I shoot the 115 Berger VLD's for both. I do plan on dispatching a few does with the .25-06 AI this upcoming year. I'll be sure to post my results.

gonna try those accubonds when i get it. what is the lubalox coating winchester loads on them? someone told me its bad for the barrel?

I have been using Sierra 117's for many years and have taken whitetails and hogs. Its amazing what the 117's can do!

Winchester does not sell the lubalox coated accubonds in 25-06, and they are not available to the reloader if that is your plan. Several manufacturers are selling 25-06 loaded with the 110 accubond, but not with the lubalox.

Lubalox is slicker than goose spit... It won't hurt a thing. If anything it will help barrel life.

Don't confuse the Combined Technology bullets with the Accubonds. I think they're designed differently. I have never tried the CT's. But if you do, I am curious to gear your experiences and results with them.

I have shot LOTS of the regular 110gr Accubonds. Worked perfect everytime.

I have shot MANY deer with MOST cup and core bullets from 100 to 120grs in a 25-06. I did control hunting on a big farm for 15 years where my buddy and I took 100 deer a year. I shoulder shoot when possible also. I have found that it really don't matter what hunting style bullet you use in the 25-06 it is a drop them in their tracks most of the time killer. I hand load and settled a long time ago on the 117 Sierra Pro Hunter at 3000 fps out of my rifle because it shoots them in bug holes and kills deer DRT no matter how far away. I know finding factory ammo is very hard these days but Federal did make and I think still does make a Premium load using the 117 Sierra bullet. In my experience the old style cup and core or the poly tip non bonded core bullets like the Nosler ballistic tip kill deer better than the bonded core type bullets in the 25-06.

The lubelux will not hurt the barrel at all I shoot them all the time. They also don't do them in accubond, only the ballistic tip. The ct.'s are the exact same bullet just coated. I shoot those out of my wby unless they are close yardage shots then I use accunonds for there toughness.
