I was wondering if someone with Quick Load could look up a predicted velocity for me. I'm having a 338 norma built and would like to know the expected velocity. I know it will vary from real world data, and I do have a chrony. Just want to see ball park velocity data to decide if I need to go longer on my barrel before it's cut.
Don't know all the inputs needed, but
Barrel 1-9.5 25"
retumbo 90 grains
106 grn h20 capacity
300 smk and 300 berger @ 3.6"
3,800' ASL
Thank You!

Is this what you wanted to see?

Barrel 25"
Bullet Travel 23.139"
Retumbo 90gr
107.1% Fill
Quick Load has the case at 105.4 Grains H2O
100% burn @ 14.2" of bullet travel
338 300gr Berger G7
COAL 3.6
Pressure 60,083psi....Max Pressure 63817psi. If against the lands add 7,000psi
Vel 2662fps

Thank you so much! It really burns full in 14.2" of barrel or is that a typo? 24.2" sounds more reasonable.

Just went and checked it and Quick Load has it 100% burned at 14.2189".

Just ran a quick compairson only changing the powder and used IMR 7828. 99.99% burn as the bullet exits the barrel with a vel of 2611fps and the fill is 98.5%

Hope this helps.

Id say your in the ball park my norma was 107 h20 top off neck. I get 2725+ in 26'' with 87.5 Retumbo

Jim,
If it's not too much trouble from you could you run 26" and 27" barrel for me?
Thanks.
