Help on ballistic program

Just got my first custom build. Now my question is this, I will be shooting 100 to realalistically say 800 yards. What ballistic program do I want to get. Want something to download to my i-phone. Am getting a Lie a 1600b rangefinder. Am rolling my own ammo. I just want to get a good program the first time . Thanks

Seems most folks use Shooter. I use it and works well for me.

Looks like your priority mail made it thru the Indianapolis sorting facility today. That's almost unbelievable. If you don't have it next week, let me know and I will see what can be done.

I was not worried about that. So I'm going to ask maybe a dumb question, in downloading to my phone will I still be able to use it if I have no service.

I would think you could.

I use ColdBore1.0 on a Windows phone that is not in service and it runs very well. The same app on the same phone that IS my cell phone also runs well but a bit slower unless set to airplane mode.

I am not an expert on ballistics calculators but this one (a part of this site) provides me with everything I need.

Yes, runs when no service is around. Shooter has a built in DB of most bullets. Some even have special BC worked out by Bryan Litz himself. Another great thing is (when in cell range) you can backup all of your entries to the Shooter site.

ColdBore sounds interesting too. The Apps are not too expensive considering what you get. Might want to try out a couple different ones to see what works best for you.

I use shooter on a iPhone. Yes the app runs on a phone that is out of service. I run mine on a iPhone that I retired in case I lose the darn thing. Also do you know that the iPhone 7 has a degree indicator? If you are getting a 1600B you won't need it but it's there along with a compass.

I have used both Shooter and Ballistuc FTE on the I phone, I personally find Shooter to be substantially better in terms of flexibility and ease of use. Shooter also happens to exactly match the ballistic readings produced by my G7 Rsngefinder, both being dead on with actual impacts past 1000 yards.

Running one simply called ballistics calculator on my droid. Free download works great and does work if the phone is out of service.

+1 for shooter, it is very accurate out to the distance of your 1600b and does not need service I have it on both my iphone ( ios operating sys.) and a tablet with(droid system) both work very well. I also use an 1600b, good combination for the distance I shoot.

I use iStrelok on my iPhones and have had great results out 800.

I use Ballistic and Ballistic AE. I keep one on metric units (AE) for work, and the other on English units for play. Ballistic uses the JBM ballistic engine, which is an industry standard. I've been using it for so long, I find it easy to use.

The target analysis capability is unique and makes it worth the cost, even if you don't use the ballistic calculator very much. Here's a screen shot showing the target image (taken with my iphone) and some of the stats the software can provide.
