Has anyone played with this combo and 180 grain tipped tsx? On the burn rate chart it is right under imr 4831. I've started working up a load from 68 grains ( that's where imr 4831 begins) and now have gone to 77 grains with no signs of pressure. Next week I will shoot the next batch and get some fps readings. And I am well aware of the different blends for different cartridges and the superformance powder for the reloader is not for the 300 win mag. So my question is am I the only one to try this or is there some type of data out there that I just have not found? If any of you have tried this how did it work out for you.

Hodgdon is using Superformance in the 300wsm with mid weight bullets, but they aren't using it in the 300win (long). Work up to similar velocity to other powders in the class and you'll be good to go. Superformance is a rather good powder; I've been loading it in my 25wssm for a few years.
I'd have probably tried it myself in the 300win but with a couple of hundred rl22 loads already loaded I have no reason to.

I called hogden several months ago about load data for my 7wsm. They said they had none. If a powder didn't make "significant improvement" enough to add to the manual then it was dropped. Seeing that the manuals have such a safety factor built in these days I wondered if it would have been worth experimenting. At the time plenty was available in my area. Not no more!
They must've just started...superformance with a 180 SST

From what I understand there are multiple variants of Superformance powder but only one is marketed for reloaders at present. Enough demand could change that, but don't hold your breath in the current scramble to get product to market. I wouldn't doubt the powder in the 300win factories is a blend slightly slower than the canister grade Superformance.

Superformance was developed to add performance to 30/06 class cartridges. Most magnums do better with the slower grade canisters. If the expansion ratio is in the 30/06 range it works well. But for what you are doing I would try 7828 SSC. H1000 is another. Reloader 19-22-25 is possible. We use 7828 (75gr) behind 200gr SGK's. It generates 2950fps all day long. I just bought Retumbo to use with Berger 210's.
Superformance is also a name for a line of ammo. Not all the ammo uses Superformance powder. LeverRevolution is a name used in Hornady's ammo line. But the 45/70 cannot use a powder as slow as LeverRevolution so they use something else in the 45/70 LeverRevolutyion.
This is pure opinion here but we use 150's for short range medium game laser flat loads (-5" @ 405yds sighted @ 290yds) and 200gr+ for longer range/heavier game. I limit 180 308's to my one-size-fits-all 30/06 load. The 300 WinMag really shines at 200gr and above.

Ok I posted this a while ago but I thought I would share my progress, I have worked a load up with a 180 grain ttsx. I am running 77 grains with only an ever so slightly flattened primer and I am getting 3363 fps out of it and getting a consistent .5 group at 100 yards. I couldn't believe it when I saw the velocity read out on the chronograph, I've shot at distance to verify velocity and it is spot on. Anyone heard of velocities similar to this out of a 300 Winnie?

In the 300 win Mag supreme 780 is the powder WW uses
Superperformance in the 7mm WSM is not as good .........as H4831SC with 160 or RL 25 with 175gr.
I really like H4831sc with Nosler Accubond 160gr and WLRM primers in WW cases in the 7mm WSM

Sorry I cant add any info to help I was actually looking for some load data for 300win mag with 24" barrel I was thinking about the Nosler Accubond 180s or Accubond LR 190s any info on type of powder or other recommendation would be greatly appreciated I would be Elk and Mule Deer hunting Thanks

I use 75.5 grains of reloader 22 behind a 180 grain accubond. consistently shooting 3/4 MOA. velocity is just under 3100 FPS out of my 300 WM browning a bolt .
BTW, i target shoot with the 180 ballistic tips. they are about $10 cheaper per 50 so that helps with the pocket book too.

Yes, 75.0 gr. of RL22 & 180 NBT is an accuracy load for alot of people & does really good in mine..

Thanks I will try that combo in my rifle. Have you used the 180s on any deer or elk and if so how did they perform. Also have you heard anything good or bad on the 190 long range
