Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at buying a rangefinder and can't decide what to go for. I want to use it both for bowhunting and with my rifle. As far as intended range goes I would like to be able to use it to 800-1000yards but most of the use will be well under that. I don't have a fixed budget in mind.

So far I have been looking at the Leupold RX1000 and the Leica 1000 and 1600's. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? Which one is better? And anything else that I should look at?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tris

Don't waste your time or money on any of the rangefinders that are only rated to 1,000 yards. For the distance your would like to use them for go with Leica 1600, G7 or a Terrapin. The others will disapoint.

There are a multitude of threads on rangefinders. The search function will assist you with that.

forget the leupold 100 it's more like a 700 but thats on a cloudy day and the glass is more like looking through glad wrap sold mine in about 3 months .

then got a ziess prf and wow the glass is good and it ranged deer out to 1100
but was difficult and thanks to the good people here i found out it was the big
beam divergence.

so my leica 1600b should be here today or tomorrow .

hope this helps.

cheers D
