I just purchased a McMillan stock from him, he sent me a contact # and I actually spoke to him, and now I call and get some other guy?

Not sure if it's a scam or not anybody know this guy?

Mathew is his name

That's physical address if anybody has any help here

Would not surprise me if it is a scammer. Unfortunately, for me, I have been scammed twice in the classifieds here. My own gullibility at fault for sure.

So just another reminder to be careful. A-holes get on here, learn the lingo, and scam you with false classifieds. I no longer deal with folks unless they have been on the forum for sometime. I read their posts. You can then see if they are a true member or not. I no longer deal with people who just place ads.

Only time will tell with this guy. Please let us know the outcome.

Matt did call me thanks. For update we are good to go..

He typed the wrong number in pm ...

distantfoe is good to go..

That's good to hear Wood. I hate hearing about all the ripping off going on these days. It's just sad that hardly nobody has any integrity anymore.

Glad you didn't get ripped. I've been lucky on here and always dealt with good folks.

I wish they would add to the site an iTrader Score for each individual, like they do on my diesel forum. It's sort of like an ebay score, so it shows your reputation, and how many positives or negatives. I think it would be a good thing for them to integrate, and it would probably help keep the scammers out.

+1 for the feedback score system I agree

I agree with adding a feedback score. It could go in brackets after a user's name, something like a batting average.

I agree it's happening all over and here is no exception.

A few tips:

Always question (new) members selling or trading for non-cash too always!!!!! no exceptions...

Check their posts, quality, what they are doing in general on here.

Check their threads.

If someone has posted on their threads check them and email, ask a few questions to get a better feel.

If you live along way from them it could be a warning. People can take your money at their home and not think twice about re course. Go to another site and do it until the authority get into it. Most of us don't go the next level and lots of crooks do this until they are caught. You won't get your money back even then, or your equipment. They will even do non cash trades and keep your stuff and sell it.

We can only look out for ourselves. The site isn't for selling stuff really, so it's up to us.

Atleast with companies like PayPal, you get buyer protection, and can retract or dispute a payment if you never get your stuff. So, there's a slight bit of buyer protection when using PayPal.

Luckily, I've always dealt with good folks, and have never been ripped. But I always try to do my homework on someone before sending them any money.

I wouldn't bank on paypal resolving any firearm related purchase:rolleyes:

Something I try to do to act kinda like feedback is add the guys that i have made a deal with to my friends list. I figured this would allow a system of vouching for one another. If i'm selling something you can look at my page and contact the guys listed as friends and get a thumbs up from them. It also helps me remember who i have dealt with and can trust.
