Will knowing your twist rate help you decide on a bullet weight. For instance I measured the twist rate in my Winchester model 70 300wby mag with a 25" barrel. (Measured from action to crown). It came out to 1 in 10. Would this barrel favor a heavier, higher BC bullet like a 210gr over say a 185gr or does it not matter. I'm starting some load developement and am trying to take everything in to account since stuff is hard to come by right now.

My rule of thumb is to shoot the heaviest, highest BC bullet your barrel can stabilize and that you can push to at least 2900 fps. In the 300 wby, that would be bullets from 208 to 230 grains.

Lighter bullets might shoot just as accurately at 100-200 yards, but as range increases, the higher BC bullets will have less and less wind drift than the lighter bullets.

it's not bullet weight it's aspect ration.

Your 1/10 will shoot 230s
