Went to Redmond, Oregon yesterday to check out the new rifles from ExtremeOuterLimits TV show the Evolution rifles. This is the Mobile Shop he is setting up in Redmond and also has the TV Show moving there also. It is a new building and really set up nice. Has a gun vault with a lot of ready to ship rifles in a variety of calibers. A reloading room to help set up loads and testing of components. A modern gunsmith shop for assembly. He showed me the parts that make his action different from others the thing that impressed me the most was his fluted firing pin design and his Extreme action is an extended action for the longer VLD bullets which helps seating the bullets out farther and loading more powder and giving you about another 100 FPS. The TV show area is as nice but I know very little about TV productions so didn't spend too much time there. After meeting several of the employees I put my order in for a 6.5X284 in the Evolution Extreme line and got set up for the Shooting school there April 18th and 19th (hope to see you there). Shooting school goes out to 2000 yards, Hope the wind isn't blowing too much so I can hit with my new gun out to 2000. If not my 338 Lapua will do the trick. He will have gun his line of guns to shoot or bring your own. Shoot one of his and take it home after the class. I first met Bob at the McMillan shooting school last year and was impressed with his knowledge and shooting skills of course I watch his TV show and a lot of the other ones also. This is where I shot my McMillan 338 Lapua out to 1830 yards. Since McMillan sold there rifle building to Strategic Armory Corps LLC I decided to give Bob guns a try. To get more on his new venture go to MOARifles.com or Extremeouterlimits.com. I really am anxious to get mine and attend his shooting school. gun) :) :) :)

So are you saying McMillan is not the sponsor and rifle maker for EOL outdoors?

According to Bob, the McMillan contract runs out in June and his new rifles will be on the TV show but he still uses McMillan stocks and still has good relations with Kelly McMillan. On his website it now shows the MOA rifles.

He has hired a gunsmith and a lot of the components are the same ones McMillan used as that was not in the contract that he couldn't use them. Have to get the correct answers from Bob as my information is from him and I could get confused as I get older. :)

The Extreme Long Range Hunter is the one I ordered.

I'm so jealous . . . I have been lusting over these rifles for a few weeks now. I really like the pricing and I have seen one shoot. Some day . . . I'm going to convince my Wife that I "need" a long range rifle.

Until then, I'll keep chasing the factory unicorn with hand loads.

I bought one of these rifles in 7mm magnum. To be honest im a bit disappointed in it. I upgraded everything I possibly could that they offered. Got the jewell trigger and even had the bolt spiral flutted. I will say it did come with a great trigger and that is about it. The stock is a McMillian but im not impressed with it. Finish is terrible and there is sanding marks all over it, Almost like it was rough finished only. Now to the rifle, The cerakote is "Air" dried NOT baked! Don't let them tell you different. Mine has chipped away with every trigger pull around the muzzle break and flakes have came off the barrel. As for how it shoots. It does shoot fine BUT not from a clean barrel. It takes 3 to 5 rounds of fouling shots for it to settle in again after cleaning. But the the more rounds you put down range the barrel does get better with each shot. Run it dirty. When I called on this, even the gun smith said, In a nut shell, don't clean it only once a year after your all done shooting for the season. My advise is to spend a few more $$ and buy a rifle else where. Also don't believe there moto of "if your not happy with your rifle send it back" After the sale I and I have found a couple others who have ran into the same thing, Once the sale is complete they wont return calls or emails and if there is a problem they want to fix it over the phone and say is "Buyers Error". There is around 17 of us who shoot at our range and 3 of us bought rifles from Bob beck. All 3 rifles are different Cal's. 7mm mag, 270 wsm, and a 6.5x 284. All rifles act the same and all 3 have the same issues. Hope this helps. To give a personal thing about myself, I own my own business for 14 yrs now and other than work I live to hunt & shoot. I am not a huge Blog person posting everything and anything but I have been a member of this site for a while now and this rifle purchase inspired me to finally write about my experience with MOA rifles.

Grizz,

Thanks for the post I was undecided between moa rifles and a long range rifle .. Your post help me make my decision

Yes, thank you for the reply.

This is interesting. Customer Service AFTER the purchase would be one of the biggest factors in my decision to buy or look elsewhere. If I'm going to spend $7K on a Rifle, Scope and G7 RF . . . it had BETTER work, and it if doesn't work as advertised, someone had BETTER answer for it and fix it without hassle.

The rifle that I have seen from their shop is a shooter, stainless finish and standard black color stock, so there isn't much that can go wrong with it (since it's actually quite accurate). I do know that if it weren't a shooter, this particular Owner would have created quite a fuss with them.

So, with that, I'm looking at Gunwerks.

Anybody have experience with Aaron and Mike?

lckytyr,

I have spoke with Kregg from gunwerks for the past week. The LR-1000 rifle and long range set up runs $8,750.00 and also it carries a July 2015 delivery date.. I had them on short list. I also spoke with Len Backus from Long Range Rifles runs around 5100 without the scope so that's another 2000 with a 6 to 8 week wait but then he refers you to Copper Creek Custom and they can break in the barrel and work up a custom load for you for 700-900 dollars total cost is around 7800.

I'm leaning toward going with Len's gun.

You might take a serious look at R Bros rifles in Elma, WA. I probably sound like I should be on his payroll, but Travis builds the most accurate rifles I've seen. The rifles come with a test target, break-in complete, load data, and a dummy round. He can get just about any option you'd like on a long range rig for less money than what was mentioned in the posts above. I'll see if I can remember how to post pics and post a few.
