I have a guy that's got 5 pounds of H1000 for sale but its older but never been opened ..it got the old brown label ...would I be safe to buy this ??

It's probably just fine. I know the older lots of H1000 aren't as hot as the newest lots so it will probably take a bit more powder to get your velocity up.
