check your bullet creep... if they are loaded for a few days and haven't crept out of the case at all, you should be good to go.I'm at 75 gr rl19 with a 225 ab or hdy sp in my 338 ruger#1 and at 2900 fps. I remember the speer manual going to 78 grains with their 225, but I haven't needed to go there.
besides the fact it's 4 grs over max charge in 6th addition of nosler manual?

Hey Lefty, you need any .338 WM brass? I got 39 of them I will never need again. Interested in trading for some STW brass or some other brass...Got any .300 Wby or .257 Wby?

I've got 400 rounds of 7rem brass sitting around waiting to be necked up to 338 when my current 300 rounds or so gets tired. I'll be fine for a good while but one of these other gents could possibly need the brass. I'd talk to the one running the stout load first...

I'd worry about damaging the firearm so be darn careful of pressure signs. No pressure signs though and no worries.

rl19 is slow enough burning the the 338 I'm more worried about getting it in the case than beating the rifle up... It has to be a stout load though as the ab is a rather high bore drag bullet.

Which will tend to produce higher pressures because of all the surface area.
Like I said though, no pressure signs, no worries! I don't know how true it is but a friend of mine with about 50 years of reloading experience told me once the advantage to compressed loads is that as a rule ignition is slower and you get more burning down the barrel than in the chamber/case and as a result you get lower pressures. I've always though tried to ensure I had at least 2-3% of my case capacity remaining.
Of course back then I was using faster burning powders for the most part... . I also learned the hard way that a case not filled enough can cause extreme pressure problems in a hurry.
The guide also uses 225 speer sp not AB. I have a few different loads that are up there but the 78gr just stood out and got my attention from memory. Just don't want to see or hear of someone getting hurt. I'd also work up as mentioned with eye on pressure signs.
