300 (338) Norma Magnum = 300 (338) Blaser Magnum?

I'm just wondering about the precise (real) name for the relatively new cartridge family being named Norma Magnum in the US.
In Europe, where they come from and where they are (astonishingly) not that popular than in the US, they are called 7mm Blaser Magnum, 300 Blaser Magnum, 338 and 375. This family of non-belted cartridges was presented in 2009 from both Blaser and Norma as the result of a cooperation between these two companies. Did you know about that?

Maybe I was too complicated while formulating the thread. It seems like Norma is following a marketing strategy, because they introduced an already existing product (300 Blaser Magnum, 2009) with a new name (300 Norma Magnum) in the US in 2012... It hit me when I was reading a post some time ago where members have been discussing a 7mm/ 300 Norma Mag. This cartridge also already exists, it's the 7 mm Blaser Magnum from 2009. Actually it's a 7mm/338 Blaser Magnum, because the 338 is the parent case for the hole cartridge family.

I believe Blaser Magnum and Norma Magnum are different parent brass.

Blaser is based on .404 Jeffery

Norma is based on .416 Rigby

Thanks for your input, but I doubt your conclusion. All Blaser cartridges er produced by Norma, so brass is identical. Both companies er belonging to the Swiss RUAG - Group. If you would take a view on Norma's homepage you can observe that there is no 300 "clean" Norma Magnum, but all the Blaser Magnums I'm talking about.
Some hours ago I was reading German reviews about the 7 Blaser Mag and 300 Blaser Mag, and the load data there for the 300 Blaser are corresponding to what I was reading on our forum. Things seem to be pure marketing.

The 300 Norma Mag is based off of Rigby case. Basically a shortened 338 Lapua case. The Blaser rounds are based off of 404 Jeffery rounds. Very similar to the Dakota rounds. I think you should call Norma and gets facts straight.

Norma and Blaser rounds are based on different parent cases as said before, they are not related or in any way interchangeable.
The Blaser Magnum cartridges uses a standard magnum .532" bolt face, the Norma Magnum cartridges the .587" bolt face of the .338 Lapua.

The Blaser Magnum cartridges uses a standard magnum .532" bolt face, the Norma Magnum cartridges the .587" bolt face of the .338 Lapua.

Thanks, I found the information and now I know about the mistake I made. Looking at Norma's homepage it seems strange to me that both the 300 and 338 Norma Magnum are not to find among Norma's hunting cartridges but under target. Looks like that fab - ammo isn't produced, so they are only available for reloaders though. Didn't know that, and Blaser Magnums are not for sale in the US...
