So, I'm getting a rifle built and I need help choosing a dip pattern for the stock. The stock is a Mcmillan A-3 and the steel will be matte stainless. I'm thinking I want to do multicam but I don't know how that would look with the stainless. At any rate I am leaning towards camo of some sort.

My cousins wife's rifle.

I would go Multicam or ATACS. If you are worried about it being to light colored for the stainless, you could have a darker base coat applied to darken the camo pattern.

I wouldn't be ashamed to carry that to the range at all. Maybe I can build one and give it to my wife. It would be a good excuse anyway.

Not ashamed, just stating who owns it. It shoots pretty good. We had a little issue with it this past weekend. During the summer it was dead on, but the cold I think was messing with it. It's very low recoil. He said it's his "Wife's", but I know better.

I shoot it more than she does! It is a 6.5x47 lapua and it shoots real well I built it myself. I love taking it ground hog hunting. I think I pretty much used her as an excuse to build another rifle.

My first choice is Kryptek Highlander. I really like it and am having a stock dipped in it in the next few months. My second choice is Atacs.

Yeah I'm torn between Atacs and Multicam. I actual think Atacs might look better with the Matte stainless than Multicam. Kriptec is an awesome pattern, but weatherby puts it on their Vanguard S2 rifles and that kind of ruins the cool factor for me. I really like the Kuiu Verdes pattern but I doubt you can get the pattern for dipping. I found a rifle done in a black and gray pattern called Flectar that looks frikin awesome. Anybody heard of Flectar?

I'm probably spending way to much time on this. I'm sure Brian is ready for me to make up my mind.

It is German camo.
Copied from Wikipedia:
Flecktarn (German: "spotted camouflage"; also known as Flecktarnmuster or Fleckentarn) is a 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-color disruptive camouflage pattern, the most common being the five-color pattern, consisting of dark green, light green, black, red brown and green brown or tan depending on the manufacturer. The use of spots creates a "dithering" effect, which eliminates hard boundaries between the different colors in much the same way the squares in the newest digital camouflage patterns do. The pattern is designed for use in temperate woodland terrain. It has been adapted as desert camouflage by varying the colors.

This if the rifle I was talking about. After doing some research it's obviously not Flecktarn but it's still cool. Kind of a black and white Multicam.
