I have a brand new (never used or installed) Titanium 25 MOA picatinny base for a Remington 700 LA. Uses 8-40 screws. Black

I thought I'd post on the benefits of Titanium.


Physical Properties:
Approximately three times stronger than 6061 Aircraft aluminum.

45% lighter than carbon steel, while being just as strong.

Incredibly corrosion resistant. Titanium is routinely used for seawater applications where stainless steels have failed.

Titanium has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, so point of impact shifts will not occur due to scope base growth under varying temperature conditions. (Severe problem with aluminum bases)!

Yes it is. Cameron makes a great product, accurately made= true MOA slope. I have three of his bases.

The only reason for selling this one is I made the mistake of thinking my receiver was taped for 8-40 screws when it wasn't. I could epoxy it to the receiver, only this is for a special gun I own that Kenny Jarrett made for me over a decade ago and I don't want something permanently bonded to the receiver.

Yes Murphy does have some fine products.I have a set of rings and a 20moa base.

Ya, if it we're just that easy......... a coated barrel and action that could get buggered up removing the barrel to tap and tread the last hole over the treads in the barreled action. That would cost at least $80-$90.00 if nothing does get scratched up doing the work involved. If it does? Then the whole thing would need to be striped down, re-coated, engraved again... and that would never come out well over the original engraving in the barrel. Now you're talking big bucks, when the simple solution is to order another one for the 6-48 screws and sell this one!
