Just curious if anyone loves this powder as much as myself. I use this from my 22-250 to 300wsm and my 257 wthrby mag is a tack driver with 110gr, accubonds. Who needs 10 different powders when I have seemed to get by w/3 all these yrs. ? Just seems to me this is a powder worth bragging on. My go to rifle is a kimber Montana 7mm wsm and it also loves the load I.ve worked up using 139 gr. interbonds. Can't beat it fella's.....That is H414..

It is my go to powder for the 7/08 and is the most accurate.

The downside is that it is heat sensitive and the POI will change with wide temperature swings.

Also I would buy W760 since its typically a dollar or two cheaper and is nothing more than H414 in a different can.

I too like the Win.760 which is the same as H414 in my 300 WSM.64.5grs gives me 3125fps and 1" groups @ 200yds.I shot two deer with this load this year and both were drop on the spot DRT.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with W760/H414 or even Imr4007ssc, all three are good powders to fall back on when you can't find Imr or H 4350, AA4350 is also a good alternative as are ramshot biggame and hunter. If you want the accuracy and speed in your 300 win mag with 180s and want to use a ball powder give supreme 780 a shot or Magpro.

my 300 win shoots 1/2 inch groups with h414 and a 180 sst only problem is it only go's 2750
I run lots of rifles+projectiles around the 2750 range. Almost always an accuracy point in my rifles.

If this is a hunting load you gain very little for the last 100fps if you loose accuracy.

2750 is 1000lb at 750 yards, ~3.75 accuracy if 1/2 moa
2850 is 1000lb at 800 yards, ~6,00 accuracy if 3/4 moa

I'll take accuracy any day of the week.

I have H414 but have not loaded it yet. Got it for 284win with 168smk. Got lots of other powders as well but all my manuals like H414 for the 284.

Rl17, H4350, and 4831sc are the go to powders for 26" and longer barreled 284s with 162-180grn bullets, btw. H414 is a little on the fast side for that application. Oh and with a 300 win mag and a 180grn pill there should be a node much higher and possibly more accurate between 2950 and 3100fps, and 200-350fps makes a hell of a difference, and these velocitys are attainable with IMR or H 4350 or the 4831s or 7828, magpro, hybrid100v, rl22, aa3100, etc... why run do with a 300 win mag what you can do with a 30-06? Sell it and buy a 30-06, then you can make some 150grn Noslers zing with a case full of H414.

Enjoyed reading responses concerning H414 powder.. With the way things are today with trying to find any powder to satisfy our hunger for fast accurate shooting, I have been well pleased with the results at the chrony and accuracy with this powder. Little fast for 300wsm?, Nah... Too fast for 257 wb mag? Nah.... Just right! But hey, at least we can still have our opinions and spirited debates enjoying our love for fast accurate rifles.. God Bless America!gun)

I keep some on the shelf but don't load much of it. It is certainly a velocity powder. First time I learned what it could do was around 1991. A fella I know shot competition. Shot the .277 Titas (Titus)? Basically a 308 necked down to .277. He shot a 150 grain bullet over H414 and a 25.5" barrel and it was a one holer at 100 yards time and time again and velocity was very high.

He used that same load to kill many Coues whitetails too.

Problem I've always had is accuracy. Never been overly impressed with it.

H-414 works great in the 22-250 AI with 55gr bullets! I run a max load and the only time I have ran into trouble was on a prairie dog trip and the temps got unusually high, low to mid 90's, and popped a couple of primers. It produces very good accuracy, velocity and meters almost like water.

Just did a some loads with 25-06 & h-414 gunna try some h 4350 next liking the h-414 thow pours& trickles good.

I use H-414 in my 243 win and 7 SAUM. With the trouble in finding powder here in Alaska I plan on using it for my .416-.375 RUM when complete. That is if H4831 is unobtainable. The 85 tsxbt scream out of a 99F savage and shoot moa. The 120 TSXBT also do well out of the 7, but with the heavier pills H4831 is the go to. I worked up a load for my cousin using the 150 Sciroccos in a 300 WSM using W760 and H414, no difference in charge or velocity, and it would shoot one hole groups out of his model 10 savage. It hammered caribou at any respectable range, 100-300 yards.
