Just a quickie. Are the barrel threads/size etc the same on all of the versions of the model 70? Specifically will the barrel of a 300wm from a push feed action thread into the modern or 90's version of the pre 64 action with the addition of an extractor cut out for the claw extractor?

Good question, I wouldn't think so due to the extractor cut.
 
1"x16 tpi is the standard tenon on m70 actions with the exception on some of the newer models....supposedly they are 20tpi, although I haven't run across one of those yet.

The vast majority of Model 70s, 1939 to 2010 are one inch and 14 pitch.

I own a 2008 "Coyote Lite" that is metric and a 2012 Classic which is also metric.

I suspect the new plant which claim to be ISO 9000 certified will have more and more parts metric. I would not put it past them to import barrels from Miroku to put on their Model 70 receivers. The customer may actually gain accuracy in this case.
