My Uncle has a Husqvarna 7mm Rem Mag with a 22" (I think) vented barrel that he wants to sell. I think he only wants $300-$350 for it, and I'm his first buyer. But I want to know options for replacment stocks, triggers and barrels. Who made those actions, and what parts are available for them?

Anyone have any info?

Kind of late but are you still interested in some information on that gun.

In general Husquarna rifles (made in Sweden) are holding high standard and can be upgraded with various kinds of aftermarket parts.

I'm waiting for my action to get back from Pac Nor with a new 26" barrel. It should be here any day now, I'm like a kid before Christmas.

I've uploaded pictures of my action taken before I shipped it off to be re-barreled.

Google books has a book you can see by Frank de Hass entitled Bolt Action Rifles. You can do a search for it and look on page 276 - 281. There is also information on the model 8000 stating on page 282. the 8000 was a latter model with a modified action.

Here is the Readers Digest version; a company named Trade winds out of Tacoma Washington imported the actions which they sold either under their name or through Smith and Wesson. I've heard them referred to as HVA (Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Akteibolag) early and late versions, 1640 and Husqvarna commercial.

That should give you something to chew on. If you have a 1960's version you have a good action to use or build on. I bought a 90% stock from Richard's Microfit stock and sent the action to Pac Nor for a 26" barrel. If I don't screw up the finish work and inletting on the stock I should have a nice fairly long range 7mm Rem Mag when I'm done.

Good luck with yours.
