I have been deer hunting all week and had put a stock on a deer I ended up passing on. I decided since I was going to pass on him i would see how close I could get so as I am walking up a draw I see something looking at me above the brush. I pull up the Bino's and its a coyote. so I drop down with my rifle across my pack and cant see the coyote but his curiosity got the best of him and he took a few steps foreward and I could see half of his face ad his neck. I had my 338 win with 225 ttsx loaded in it. I wasnt sure of the distance I thought it was 2-300 yards so I put the cross hairs on the center of his skull and let one go...turns out it was 200 yards... No saving the pelt on this pretty Male.

good thing Barnes dont open on thin skinned game! this could have been Gory...

I was elated! I had a feeling he would because he seemed curious when he was watching me walk and watched me look at him in the Binos so I was pretty sure it was gonna end badly for him.

That is fantastic. Love the feeling when they peek.

Never seen a coyote do it, usually they are pretty wary. Maybe he lost his mind? Oh, wait, no - there it is....:D
