Hey Guys,

I know this has been asked a few times in a round about way, but in 2013, what is the going rate for a Remington 700 Sendero?

This is a bit of an ambiguous question, because the "to each his own" (read level of stupidity) comes into play as well as which caliber and condition and so forth.

The question arises from my search for a 7 saum, should I find one what would be the ball park price a sane person would pay?

Thanks!
Calvin

You're not gonna find a Sendero in a SAUM. All Senderos are long-action calibers. I'm not positive, but I do believe that Remington made some VSSF and VSSF II's (essentially short-action Sendero rifles) in SAUM calibers...If they did, then they are most likely very rare...Good luck in your search.

INK- i had one in 300rsaum. they made them in 7rsaum also but not for very long. all were vssf 1. they are essentially the same gun as a sendero. mine shot great. the problem is they are rare like a 7stw or 300weatherby. so the same price as a sendero give or take.

I recently paid $850 for an STW Sendero SFI, low round count clean rifle it that helps.

I also bought and sold a 300 Saum barrel, so I guess they did exist :)

I have found two now, and when i called Remington about the serial numbers, they told me they were Senderos.

Thanks for the info, I figured they were in the same ball park, but being that they were "rarer", I wasnt sure how to put a dollar on that.

Did you like your 300 saum?

Thanks for your help!

I did find one! Actually two! :)

it seems mine was marked sendero not vssf . i am going to call the present owner. and yes all my senderos are awesome. including this one i sold. the 7rsaum would be a nice one to try.

I will have to look this weekend. Who knows the lady at remington may have been confused. I know it has been discussed at some length.. Im not sure what the conclusion was..

I'm sure the lady there didn't know the difference....The short-action models are VSSF and VSSF II. The long-action models are Senderos. The barrel will be marked "Sendero" because of the SF 26" varmint contour barrel, to distinquish that it is not a standard heavy barrel.

VSSF = Varmint Synthetic Stainless Fluted

INK- did you get one yet??

I'll pick it up this Saturday! I was talking to a friend about my search and he had one tucked away that he is willing to part with.... What dumb luck...

So we are going to the range on Saturday to stretch her legs.

Now I'm looking for a McMillan a2/a4 to put it in.
