So got the new 260 Rem on the way and am having a hard time settling on a bullet.
I have choose 2 powders Varget and 4831SC
Choosen the brass lapua 260 New
But the bullets a little tougher I want something in the 120 range which eliminates the Bergers I load for most everything else
I want to use it on everything from coyotes-deer or just a day at the range with 600-800 yard capabilitys have even considerd the 100tsx but wanted to get some real world feed back and sugestions
Thanks for the replies

I'd have to go with the Berger 140 VLD, if I had to say the one I would pick, if I had a 6.5...That would be my do-all bullet.

Same here 140 berger for me. Why give up all the ballistic advantages of a 6.5 to shoot 100 - 120 grain bullets? If your stuck on that weight I would look into the 123 Amax.

These should do the trick, assuming you have a 9" twist or faster.

A bit spendy though.

Interesting choice I was not aware of it.

I have a 6.5x284 coming in a short action. Intention is a moderate range, coyote, wolf, deer, and antelope rifle. Once I looked into it we are setting it up to shoot the 123 A-Max.

My choice is balance more towards the predator side of the equation, if I was looking at it balanced a bit more to the smaller big game, the Swift Scirocco 130 grain would be where I started.

They also have bullets not listed on their site... and they will make you a customized bullet to your spec as long as it's doable. If you ever have any questions it doesn't hurt to call.

What is your rifle's twist?

It's a 1:9 schillen #4 finished at 24in I have been looking at the 123 Amax but have read a lot of mixed reviews for there use on big game but I have used them in my 22-250 and the accuracy is great. What kind performance are you all seeing on big stuff with the Amax?

To the guys recommending the 140 bullets, I would normally agree, but obviously they will not work in a 9" twist. Not even the Berger 130's.

I have a 264 Win I run 140 VLDs in for the bigger stuff.
This guns primary purpose is rock chucks, coyotes, mule deer
Knowing it will get used a ton for a coyote rig and wanting the velocity is the reason for the hope of a good 100-125 bullet even been looking at the 107 Sierra and Nosler custom comp problem I face is the 6.5 bullet selection in my area sucks right now so I will have to make an order for some and just was hoping someboy has some good direction of what there using and likeing

maybe try the new 130 gr long range accubond or maybe the barnes 127 gr lrx if your twist will stabilize it
