I have a chance to get some of this. Was wanting h1000 but cant find it. Has anyone used this stuff. Its going in a 300 win mag. Its this or 4000mr from aliant

I just used some ramshot mag in my 338 norma mag for the first time. On a clean barrel i shot 7 rounds. Came home and cleaned it, holy charcoal! It was just nasty dirty.

Depending on the bullet weight your using, Ramshot Magnum is pretty slow burning for your chambering. With heavy bullets and top pressure levels it would probably work fine but the reason your seeing such heavy carbon fouling is lower pressure resulting in incomplete burn.

Magnum is pretty slow for the 300 Win Mag with anything but the heaviest bullets and to working pressures. With bullets over 200 grains, it will likely work very well but stay on top of the carbon fouling and work your pressures up to near max loads for cleanest possible burn.

Have not used 4000mr so can not add anything there.

Third Generation Shooters Supply has one pound cans of H1000 instock and an 8 lb keg of H4831 in stock. In my opinion, both would probably be better then Ramshot Magnum.

Thanks Kirby. I happened to look at third generation this morning. Found it on a Bing search. I had never heard of it before. They had 83lb of H1000 in 1lb cans at about noon today. I saw you post a few minutes ago and thought I woudl look again they had 16lb left in stock. I was wanting a 8lb can but beggers cant be choosers. I hate to be greedy but who knows when you'll be able to get it again. I bought 10lb in 1lb jugs hpefully they will all be from the same lot. Thanks again though. I have been looking everywhere for some of this stuff. They look like a pretty good store, ive never used them before

BJ and Steve are two of the guys that work at Third Gen and they are GREAT guys. They are OLD time members of LRH from way back, back when there were only 3000 members. As good a couple guys as you will ever meet. They will treat you well and they are great to work with.
