Ed.... Can't get the link to do anything.....

I need some humor this morning. Got rained on halfway through bailing yesterday...

Looking at a 100 acre re-rake today.

Sorry no link, just the jpeg file.

That's a lot of work ... hope all went well!

Ed

It went real well. In fact I just got in and grabbed some leftovers, I could have eaten anything, I was that hungry. It all got raked (we have 2, twin rotor rotaries ((Kuhn)). It almost all got bailed in squares (2 NH 575 high capacity bailers) and it's all on wheels and in the barns. We used every gooseneck we had and all the hay racks. I have about 7 acres left to square but that acreage is presold to a buyer who will pick them up out of the field so all I'll do is bale them, they come and get them.

2 tractors, both large frame Kubotas with cabs and air and a full crew of loaders and helpers. All we stopped for was bottled water and filling the twine boxes. I checked toe counters before we quit for the night. 5300 bales on the counters at 4 bucks a bale, not a bad days work. Might be 6 bucks a bale depending on how scarce hay gets this winter. We have under roof capacity for 10,000 squares and about 2000 rounds.

At present we have 1850 4x4 rounds in 1st and 2nd cut and about 3500 small squares in 1st. It won't be SRO this year but all in all, not bad..... and it will all be gone by spring. We have regular customers that we supply every year, year in and year out and spot buyers too.

I'm old so it did take ne a bit to realize there was no link.... You can't expect anymore from a farmer I guess.

I'll finish it up tomorrow, my partner has other obligations so I'm alone with a crew. Then the equipment gets serviced, fluids changed, greased, washed and put away until next year because it's hunting time now.

I need a hot bath and a glass of Sherry tonite....
