reloader 33 in 338 lapua

I don't think RL33 is shipping yet. Something's up with all the ATK brands.

RL-33 is available. I got mine in early Oct. from Powder Valley Powder Valley, Inc.
The 8 lbs came in a monsterous sized container which could have held at least 12 lbs. The surprising part is that even with the haz mat it was cheaper than buying locally.

FYI none of our local stores carry it yet....

I see that there are recipies online already but it's not listed in Alliant's powders. I looked this weekend and didn't see it anywhere but I'm definetly going to try it when I can get some.

RL-33 is listed in Alliant's load data. You will have to do some digging to see suggested usage. They have said they are still working with it and various cartridges. The load data will sneak into their pages I suppose.

I was looking at 7 STW load data and found it there.

Alliant's method of listing the powders that should be used for a particular cartridge is tedious. They should take a lesson from Hodgdon's site where all powders are shown on one page with a ranking of bullet weights. It also wouldn't hurt to show starting loads AND maximum loads for each combination.

I just e-mailed Alliant and said the same thing as above. Maybe if enough of us contacted them they would revamp their load data pages.

The Alliant site is ok. I will admit that the Hodgdon works better when looking for loads. It frustrates me a little that the products are not highlighted as fast as they are announced. Being a marketing manager myself I had all new products highlighted with press releases via the web within 2 hours. Not slamming ATKs marketing as they are probably pulled in 50 directions ar any given time but the marketing does need a little help.

I am using retumbo now in my 338 lapua until Reloader 33 comes to Fairbanks Alaska
I have some of the new 300 gr Bergers elite hunting bullets and a pile of Hornady brass with Fed 215M primers.

Really would like some RL 33 to try!

Received my 2# of Reloader 33 on 13 June 2013 after a long wait.

Now the fun begins with the 338 Lapua

Just received my RL-33 this morning. I'm shooting Berger 300gr OTM with Fed 215 primers. I had asked for Alliants reloading guide but unfortunately they did not send it with my powder so ill try there website again to find a good starting point. Ill keep everyone posted on my load development.

Keep us posted on your velocities and accuracy. I am shooting the same bullets as you are but using H1000 and CCI primers.

I just picked up 6 pounds of rl33, did any of you have any good results with it? Good accuracy? Velocity? Temp stable? I ran out of my go to powder h1000. Hoping rl33 can fill the shoes. I get good accuracy with rl25 but not good temp stability. Also does anyone know if the bearing surface is close between 250 smk and hornady250 bthp. The load data between sierra and hornady is way different.like 10 grains of h1000 different. I always work up but I don't want to waste components and time. My accuracy load for 250 Mk is 99 ,under sierra max but way over hornady max. I would have just stayed with sierra's but as with everything else i can't find any, did find some hornady 250's . Just got my first batch of berger 300 to try with rl33 if you can point me in the right direction, thanks.

Thank you sir. Looks like you got some good velocity. Has it proven temp stable? Seems to be conflicting data on that subject.

I can't find it offhand, but I recall reading a thread started by Kirby Allen (fiftydriver) testing drops in RL33 at various temperatures with consistent results. If I find it I'll post a link (or someone pick up my slack)
