velocity?

What velocity should i see out of my 7mm rem? 24in factory barrel. 168 bergers trying 69 gr. of Retumbo and also 68.6 gr. of h1000?

my chrono read about 2800 but i wasn't sure to quite trust that. havent shot the retumbo through it yet but the h1000 seemed low to me

I loaded 56 grains of H4831 behind the 168berger in my 280rem with 24" barrel and got 2750.

I'm not sure what the go-to powders are for the 7rem mag but if all you're getting with Retumbo or H1000 is 2800, you need to go to a faster powder like H4831. I would want a 7mag to send the 168s at darn near 3000.

I'M getting 2860 with 64.2 of H4831 in a 26" barrel rem 700 with 168 Berger's. Hope to try H1000 soon.

Perhaps increase the charge of H4831 in order to increase velocity? or is this load a max load you don't want to exceed?

2960fps 168 vld 70.2gr h1000 gm210m primmer 26in bbl. Excellent accuracy.

My notes 2929fps 69.0 h1000 same bullet 26in . Subtract 25 to30 fps per inch.

I was getting 3100 out of a 24" barrel with 72 gr of Retumbo pushing 160 NAB's. My former pet load of IMR 4831 pushed 160 Partitions to 3000. In my testing Retumbo has produced the best velocities except for RL17 which produced about 3150 pushing the 160 NAB's, but case capacity was only about 85%

At 64.5 I was getting a slightly sticky bolt retraction and at 65.0 some extractor marks.

I will run both through the chrono again today hopefully. Getting to be that time of the year so i will just have to run what i got.

Last year I started getting 50fps fast readings on my previously shot loads. A screw holding one eye was slightly loose. It could only wiggle about 1/16th and it was enough to matter. Check your settup plumb square , level and fasteners.
