I've been resisting the urge for a while to join yet another forum but numerous google searches about long range hunting, long range shooting, and reloading have lead me to LRH. As much as I'm learning from reading the forums, I think I can learn more by joining in the discussions.

We moved to Utah a year ago and up until then my shooting experience was probably typical of most of the hunters I know. Before each hunting season I would put three rounds of factory ammo through my rifle at a range and if all three were within an inch or so from the bullseye I called it good. Occasionally I would go plinking or shooting the shotgun but nothing serious.

Since moving here I've become more interested in both hunting at long range (long for me anyway) and long range target shooting (again, long for me). I know that I probably won't ask a question that hasn't been asked 100 times already and for that I apologize in advance. Sometimes I can be a little dense and having a conversation can make things a lot easier to understand than just reading about them. Hopefully in the process I can make a positive contribution to the forum.

Exactly why you can now find me here as well :) :)

Welcome.

Glad to have you on board. You can spend a lot of time on here and most of the time get the results you are looking for. But it can get costly getting all the good stuff you need or want to get the results you are looking for.

Every time I think I have everything I "need", I find that there's some other tool or gadget that I can no longer live without. My wife asked me not to spend any more money on "gun stuff" for at least two weeks.
