Has anyone put a caliber like the 375 allen magnum in a wood stock? I imagine someone has done this. Are there any special considerations that a guy needs to pay attention too if i was to try and make a wood stock for a rifle of this chambering?

There are lots of fine big bore rifles on wood stocks and they do well.

The choice of wood for heavy recoiling rifles is very important and the grain placement in certain areas (Like the pistol grip) are very important .

Really dense, strong wood is very expensive and sometimes hard to find but worth the effort and
pride of ownership.

If a wood feel is what you like , there are some great laminates that have both looks and strength.

I would recommend that you talk to Joel Russo on this site and pick his brain.

I like the feel, looks and balance of fine wood to and have very few "Composite" stocks and all of
my "Wood" stocked rifles shoot well below 1/2 MOA.
