Well, for my first real post I give you:

20" .223 AR-15 for comparison

What it is;
Defiance Machine Z-15 receivers
White Oak Armament 26" .204 ruger barrel (1-10") and head spaced bolt
Rock River 2 stage trigger
Jp Enterprises LMOS bolt carrier group and adjustable gas block
Seekins precision 15" FF handguard
Vortex scope I had on hand riding in Badger ordnance max-50 rings

From the get-go it shoots Hornady 40 gr vmax at .67''. I want to try some 39 gr seirra's and I'll eventually work up some hand loads. New glass also in the works but I take a bit. looking at Zeiss and Leupold vx-3.

(both rifles will end up with the Cerakote guy to shed the mutt look)

-sob
gun)

.67'' 5- shot group I think that will improve. It hits a 6 inch plate at 300 yards at will. the recoil... well, there isn't any.

How's the long barreled one shoot?

He is talking about the long barreled one.....

I've eye raped those Defiance receivers online....I'm sure the same standards go into the machine work for the AR's as do the Defiance bolt actions....and they are a work of art!

That is top shelf components right there! no wonder she shoots, I'd like to duplicate something like this build sometime in the future. How long was the wait to get the Defiance receivers?

Thanks for sharing!

About 5 weeks if I recall correctly, I bought them 2 months ago, fast, really considering everything that's been going on. They are decent receivers but I think defiance should rethink the pricing or up their AR game but it's also their first go at them. I doubt I build any more but if I do I will be going back to Mega Machine.

Yah, I hear you! I just got my first Mega AR two months ago and it is GORGEOUS! Their craftsmanship is the best I've seen and the fit and finish if flawless. There are zero machine toolmarks, the anodizing is silky smooth, everything engages super tight without that clunky feel. I would highly recommend anybody who is in the market for an AR to seriously consider Mega Arms.

Another high quality manufacturer that comes to mind in the AR game is SI Defense in Montana. When all of this mess started I bought three sets of their large frame matched billet receiver sets. And they are also very well built.

That is a fine looking rig. what sling is that on the 20 inch 223?? That looks like something I could use

It's a 3 point attached to a buttstock mag pouch but I cant remember the brand. I picked it up right before a deployment in 2005, its held up well.
