I've had some luck with the 160gr Accubonds and Retumbo. I'm at 92 grains, but as always, start lower and work up. I never worked it up past 92 as it wasn't needed, so could possibly have gotten more without excess pressure. Good luck!

With the 160, 162, and 168 grain offerings, Retumbo will serve you well. You should find acceptable accuracy between 91 and 93 grains. The poor quality Remington brass will not stand repeated firings with 93 or more grains, unless you want to use super glue to hold your primers in...

I've not seen that rem brass is an issue in the 7rum, but I've only shot one of the 7rums out. Heck, most of the hundred rounds I shot in the 7rum got necked up to 30 cal and are still being shot in my 300rum.
I gave up on retumbo when rl25 kicked its butt on 140 and 150 grain pills in the 7rum. My brother is doing well with retumbo with 150's in his 7rum, however.
I'd look at 50bmg or mil- surp powder like wc872 or 5010 for 160-175 class pills in the 7rum.

I shoot the 162 A-Max Moly 3.700 215GM Rem brass 93.5gr of Retumbo in a 700 LSS. This is a MAX LOAD in my rifle.
Back it down 5gr and work your loads up for your rifle.
There is a BIG difference at top loads using moly vs non-moly I use 162 A-Max's MOLY coated direct from Hornandy only.

this is the best i have got so far... reli getting agravating... i have beded recoil lug and now have put a little plastic insert at end of stock btween stock and barrel... which actually helped alot... this load is w/ rem brass and 92.5 gr. of h1000 with a 168 gr vld seated at mag length.. i have worked from 86 to 93 gr. in .5 gr. incraments at 93 i started getting pressure signs so i backed down to 92.5 which is the best yet.... i just reli feel it should be doin better.... what would yall try next?

Is that the only bullet you've tried?? My rifle really liked the 140 sierra fb with rl25 under it or the 175 hornady with 5010 under it. Both were at around 3.650"-- basically mag. length. It tolerated the 140 accubond with rl22 pretty well also.

Yes it's the only one I've tried... I was reli hoping to get it shooting this one well ( under 1 moa) that would b fine with me i run across a deal on berger 168 gr vlds and bought 3 boxs in .284 and this gun is the only 7 i own. all I'm going to use it for I elk hunting

Try a different powder then. I'd step over to a double base if single base isn't cutting it here. Think Ramshot Magnum or rl25, etc. Switching powder types is often an easy accuracy fix.
I've gotta ask you though, has this barrel shown the ability to shoot well, ie. thrown some sub moa groups at 100 yards?? I had one 7rum with a poor barrel I gave back to my gunshop because it had a big chamber and showed no promise accuracy wise; 2 moa was rather good for that rifle. I don't really count that rifle; remington had it in their posession longer than I did and they wouldn't fix an obvious flub up.

I haven't had it long enough to b sure... Total round count down tube ain't but mayb 70 now.... Iv heard of people having pretty good luck with retumbo... Opinion?

My rifle didn't turn on well with retumbo; my brother's pipe IS doing well with it. Some rifles are just their own beast. Be really careful with round count here- you've only got 500 shots or so left before accuracy will start falling off.
