Shopping list help

I'm trying to build a long range (600 yd) target and varmint gun! I have a tenitive list but wanted help from experienced guys to make sure it's a good build.

Action- remington 700 trued from north west action works
nwaw-1

Barrel- shilen remington pre fit chambered in 6mm br Norma 26in 1/8 twist
(Could use some advise in where to find one or can I call shilen?)

Stock- McMillan a-3 from this site.

Optics- zeiss mc conquest 6.5-20x50
Zeiss MC Conquest Rifle Scope 6.5-20x 50mm Side Focus Target Turrets

Also need help wit bottom metal!

midway usa or remington country store may have the bottom metal. When I swapped my 7rem to a bdl I got my metal from my local 'smith though. I wish he did more than little jobs, as I don't feel like shipping off toys.

I wouldn't do a pre-fit barrel. Get a blank and have the smith chamber, thread, and fit everything together all trued to the tightest tolerances possible. Bed the action, float the barrel, tune the trigger, etc...

1:8 should be a good twist that will allow for lights and heavies.

I totally agree. As for bottom metal PTG makes some good detach metal for like 150$ or less.

Oh and as far as optics I personally would opt for a vortex pst. However that is pure opinion.
