I'm not one who like the idea at all of suing someone, but that may be one of the only things that will make the municipality and state take notice and perhaps change. If this guy sues, as mentioned might happen in the last part of the article, we should all contribute to his cause. I hope we are getting the whole story--too many things personally involved with have been so wrongly reported.

If he sues, they'll just make a law exempting these agencys and others from litigation (being sued). It wasn't smartest thing to do, posting on Facebook, to begin with.
Why wasn't it the smartest thing to do. A lot of people use Facebook like a photo album that they can share with friends. He shared a picture of his son on his Facebook, and they came after him. He had every right to do what he did. I know I have pictures of my 3 year old and I shooting his bb gun on mine. It's just ridiculous.

Agreed. I don't facebook at all, but there's nothing at all wrong with what he did. In this culture, suing is about the only tool u have. If you win, some folks take notice. If he sues, I believe he could make a very compelling constitutional argument and that is one huge shortcoming in this country is that many folks don't know and appreciate less, their constitution. A suit like this might make some folks wake up and see what is happening--how far polictical correctness and the like have taken us from the constitution. This society is supposed to be politically based, founded and anchored on the US Constitution, not the 'trends' of the day... I would suggest all of us read it--and the ammendments.
Most government agencies cannot be made to be exempt from suits anymore. Case law over the years had almost completely eroded that once held idea.
There are many sources for studying the Constitution. Here is one I enrolled in to go into detail, not just about the Constitution, but our history as well. Hillsdale College You can make a donation if you'd like, but if you cannot afford one, I believe they will still allow you to take the courses for the Constitution and some history background. I agree that all of us need to become familiar with it in much greater detail than any public schooling has taught us or our kids.
What I do not understand is how we, as a nation, can have such a weak understanding of the Constitution and the rights of the people in the first place. I have been lucky. I grew up in rural Nebraska and had a great history teacher who drove it home in us. As a teacher, I have had to take college history and pass a test on the Constitution for my certificates in both Nebraska and Wyoming. I keep a copy of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights in my desk at school, and I am a science teacher/coach/counselor. We all need to be informed, and lack of information/disinformation and the general dumbing down of the populace are at least half of the problem in this nation, as I see it. The gentleman in the article acted and has continued to act completely within his rights as a citizen of the U.S.

It's true that pose would stir up a lot of controversy, but I think it's good it did. Make an issue of it and bring the truth to light. We shouldn't be hiding our AR's or any other guns.

A month ago, everyone was screaming about the news paper that that ran the location and names of concealed carry holders in a county in NY. Yes, he may have been in the right, but buy doing what he did, he 'invited' any lib to make the call and send child services and the popo out to see him. And in that part of the country, the libs are definitely the majority. You're walking down the side walk. As a a pedestrian, you have the right of way and you're on the side walk. You are "in the right". You see a bus coming at you at 90 mph and out of control. Do you let the bus run over you, because you are in the right? or get out of the way and live to breath another day? Just 'cause you're in the right doesn't mean you have to be stupid! And, I'll darned sure conceal my guns,,,, don't need the theives around. Of course, that could be real un-healthy (for the thief!). I don't think he ment to "make an issue of it". He just had a brain fart! Sure, so he files suit. One suit ain't gonna' make 'um stop! Neither will two suits! Heck, if he'd win he'd be paid off with tax money, anyway, not the politicians money. Most who are upset here vote, but, I'd bet very few if any get directly involved in state/local politics, write or call their reps, attend council meetings, town hall meetings or even PTA meetings. Scream about "your rights" all you want. They've already pre-empted those, "for the safety of the children".

Point and counterpoint if you wish, but the fact is the guy didn't do anything wrong, and neither did his son.
Place the blame squarely where it belongs--the low information, anti-gun paranoia throughout this country fueled by generations of generally progressive media and a generally progressive public education system and a generally progressive government--all of which is founded upon an astounding lack of a moral compass that is a profound issue in our society and most of the western world, generally.
The miracle here is that there is anyone left, after generations of brainwashing, that can think with a little common sense.

So one is supposed to go hide, live life on their terms and hope they never notice you? Do you really think you can keep a low enough profile to be safe? Or is it just a question of time before its your door thats knocked on?
