First time on paper @500 with the new 264

I shot this group this weekend with my 264 built by scorehigh gunsmithing. I was pretty happy 3 shots @ 500yds just over a 1 inch group.

I am using 70 grains of Retumbo with a Fed 215M primer and a 140 Berger. .020 of the lands. It gives me a velocity of 3279fps

It started out as a sendero I had the action blueprinted,a light palma contour 8 twist Brux barrel finished just under 28 inches i think its 27.75 also had trigger tuned up. I had a shilen trigger I was going to put in but after he tuned the factory I didn;t see the need to replace it. I also glass bedded the stock. I been wanting to shoot it at 1000 just haven't really had the time to yet. I did shoot some steel with it a 800 the first weekend I shot it. I also have a Sightron SIII LR 6-24x50 mil dot that I bought from a member here. I will post a pic but its a cell pic not the best pic in the world.

ICANHITHIMMAN did you paint that stock your self it looks sweet I have been wanting to paint mine. I need some pointers though I'm thinking you have to sand the stock with some fine grit paper or steel wool but how did you come up with the patterns

Yes I painted it, I used brownells allumihide II but you could use anything you want. I did mine with an airbrush. I made stencils with small paper plates and an exacto knife, then just started spraying. I went lights to dark with my colors but you could go the other way.

I did prep the stock a bit after the first coat of paint, I saw things (imperfections) in the stock that came from the factory. I filled them in with marine tex, but I think bondo will work to. Then I sanded them sprayed on a little paint to see if it looked good.

Oh make sure you clean the stock, I used acetone before any paint was pit on. Make sure you pick an air dry finish.
