I currently have a 270 Sendero. I was thinking of re-chambering it to a 300 WM.
Is this possible?
Would I/can I need to buy a new bolt?
Can the existing barrel be re-cut or would I need a new one?
Would I be better off just buying a new rifle?

This older Sendero shoots really well, but it is a little heavy for what you get out of a 270 and I get the same out of an old BDL.

Thanks,
Shane

Yes it is possible.

You could buy a new bolt or you could have yours modified to fit the larger diameter 300WM case. Your magazine box and feed rails will also need some massaging.

It could be re drilled and rifled but a new barrel would be the best way.
Would I be better off just buying a new rifle?
In my opinion, Yes.

I have made the bolt face, extractor, and magazine mod for Mausers.
It is a lot of trouble when you can just trade rifles.

I got a 7mmRemMag Rem 700 three months ago for $395 with scope at a pawn shop.
I got a 7mmRemMag Rem 700 nine months ago for $300 at a gun show. That is a 1963 with SS Hart barrel painted black at the factory.

Those convert to 300 Win Mag with just a barrel swap.
