Nosler long range accubond bullet reviews

Well I just ordered a few boxes of 150 gr for my 280ai and once I get them and do some load testing I will post reviews.
It might take me longer to get these as I live in northern British Columbia so if you get bullets and some testing done post it here.
Can't wait I hope these live up to noslers claims

No one that I know of has them yet I just did a prebuy with a store up here that gives great deals on prebuys so hopefully ill have them buy spring (April-may)

Stopped by the Nosler mgf/Nosler Pro Shooters Shop today, & asked.
Answer;
"Probably start production in May or June" "They (ballisticians techs etc) are still finishing up testing right now".


Personally I'm suspicious of the predicted super high BC's. I'd imagine they may be a bit inflated, but I'd Love to be proved wrong!
However it turns out, im a Nosler freak, & I'm happy with the current Accubond. A new, & improved Accubond, with a higher BC, & lower 1300fps expansion window should only improve my bullet of choice.

I'm excited to try em out!

On another note, if I may rant a bit;
IF the predicted BC's wind up being pretty close, we won't have every 3rd thread on LRH be started by a Berger Lover, OR a Berger Hater trying to stir the pot!
They can pick one or the other, for eithers stronger traits, & be happy with what they've got or switch!
**** I'm sick of "yeah Berger", & "Bergers suck" threads, & debates. It's always the same folks either praising or hating them in every thread started. I personally got so **** sick of the bickering that I quit even reading them.

I do think the folks at Berger deserve a big pat on the back for being honest, & enguaging in discussions about their product. I personally don't shoot Bergers, but I sure do admire their honesty, & commitment to their product, & customers. I've Never seen any other company show that level of dedication to product or customer.

Hopefully the new Noslers will be what they're cracked up to be. Some competition in the DEDICATED L/R/H game is what we need so people have another viable option, & less reason to bitch.

So, to wrap up my rant, Come May, or June, I hope everyone can just pick one, & like it for its strong traits, or pick the other for its strong traits, & be happy with what they've got.

Hahaha I agree with your rant I have some berger hunting vld to try also so we will see which one will work the best hopefully I get good results from both so I have options

I really love the accubond in the 25cal 110g. I have shot them out to 600yds in a 257wbyaccumark with great results. i sot a 6.155 inch group with nothing done to the gun. i was loading them with hodgen 4831sc with 65.5 graines of powder and the over all was 3.2425 it might not be 6.5x284 accurate but for huntingi was pleased. and i shot 2 eights this year with excellent results. one dead in its tracks and the other one 50yds. But i am wanting a 6.5x284 just for the fun of it. thanks

It seems the estimated production date is being pushed further forward, which seems to be fairly common with many production/availability estimates, no matter the company. Last I'd been reading the projections were March/April. Beginning to doubt they'll even be available in time to prepare for August sheep/caribou hunting seasons.

Very good rant! I too am anxious to try these out. I don't think the b.c. is very accurate but that doesn't mean it can't be a very good choice if it performs as advertised otherwise.......Rich

I als am chomping at the bit to get a box of the 175 .284 coming out. the only bullit my rum will shoot accuritly was thier accubond 160. the bc ended up being .705 for the ballistic algarims to work out to 800 yards them they started to go for the posted bc. i hope the 175 will do the same. and still shoot good. but i think they had to change the ogive on them to get the bc up. that might make them harder to shoot like the other vlds. i hope not. with these big bullets comming up there will be a huge incress of big 7mm like the am.

I put 3 boxes of 30cal 210's and 3 boxes of .284 cal 175's on backorder through Graf's and the lady told me I was first in line. will try them in my new custom 7mm and 300 ultramags.

Each hunter harvested an elk and hunter also killed a buck mule deer. The only 1 shot kill was on the mule deer. Shot distance varried from 60 yds (270) to 340 yds (300 win). Every elk was hit in the chest area and all but 1 took more than 1 follow up shot.

I have not had such a bad experience with bullet performance in all the years I have been guiding. Ive read several posts over time with people stating that they like this bullet but I could not, in good judgment based on this experience, ever decide to load accubonds in one of my elk rifles.

If anyone can finagle a few of the 7mm 168's & 175's I'd LOVE test them in my 7mm RemMag, and 7mmSTW with some load-progression to find the perfect loads. Might even be able to help with info for the next manual #8...You never know?

Do you think they'll come out with a heavier weight, say 125-140gr, .257 Nosler Accubond LR? I bet some 140's out of a .257 Wby Mag would be nasty!

I'm sure you will get some comments both directions! I haven't found the AB's to open well at long range and haven't used them up close but have some friends that have not had the best luck there either. A lot of people like the Bergers, A-max's, etc. because they do give one shot kills. The detractors of those bullets say they blow up to easily on close up shots!

Wyodog: I would say my results (180 accubond, 300 WM) have mirrored perfectly what you witnessed last fall. Many good shots, but the kills were much less authoritative than with other bullets I have used. Pretty disappointed with them.

That being said, I have ordered a box of the 210 gr Accubond LR to at least work a load and attempt to test alongside the 215 Bergers. I look forward to seeing some results for myself-and from others trying to work with this bullet.
