My newest build will be done very soon. As soon as my xlr chassis and my select match barrel gets here, I will be smiling.

I have a Viper Vortex 6.5-20x44 to sitting in my safe as a spare.

However, two problems with it. It has a V-Plex reticle, and I would rather have milldots or MOA reticle. Another problem is the fact that the lowest magnification is 6.5.

This rifle is being made for slinging lead at targets, and ocasionally deer hunting over fields 5-600yds. Going through the woods to get to the field, I dont wanna be supprised and having a scope with min mag of 6.5, not exacially condusive to fast target acquisition.

Does anyone have experience with the falcon Menace 4-14x44 FFP

Price is an issue with this one. I could just go for a Vortex Viper HS 4-16, but have also heard decent reviews on the Menace.

It will be bolted onto a .308

The viper HS is obviously the way to go, but I was hoping for a few comments on the Menace. I know its not the scope the Viper is, but from what I hear its a no frills solid scope for the money, and FFP at that......

Maybe something to sit in the safe as a spare......

I didn't have the money when I was putting together my Rem 700 5R .308, so I went with a Konus M-30 8.5-32x52, TPS rings, and an EGW base, and so far I have only 1 complaint, and that is when the magnification is maxed out it can be a little touchy to focus it 100%. But other than that small issue, I have 0 complaints. The scope is fairly cheap, and for the price you really get alot of scope for the money. One day it will get replaced with a Nightforce NXS 8-32x56, but for now it's working just fine.

I bought a falcon a few years ago when they first came out. Unless they have changed the line a good bit in the last few years I stick with my comment of Go with the viper hs
