So no one has retumbo that I can find. H-1000 is tough to find as well.
Does anyone have a recipe for 300 win mag out of a browning A-bolt?
I would
Love to hear of a powder that is available here so I can try something else.
Thanks.
By the way, I have Bergers and Barnes bullets that I am trying.

I'm an H1000 man myself but R22 and H100V are options for you

rl 19, rl22 or 7828 will fill the bill very well. You didn't mention bullet weight, but if you are on the lighter side 4831, rl17 or 4350 could even work fine, albeit a bit faster than many use.

Sounds great!!!! I am going to get some Tomorrow. I have 3 pounds of RL 33 on order for the Lapua. And I'm building a 7mm STW so I would
Like something that will work in more than one gun.
Trying the heavier bullets. 160 and up.

Powders between H1000 and Retumbo would be RE25, Magpro, Ramshot Magnum, VV 170. Id stick with H4831 or Imr7828ssc if I didn't have a 26" or longer barrel.

I have the same gun as you. I found 71grains of 4350 pushing a nosler accubond 180 at 3240 was many most accurate load. I tried rl22, 19, and one other I can't recall. I get 2/3inch groups and it kills elk well.

I also had the stock trigger worked on and pillar bedded the stock myself.

I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't push a 180 out of any 300 win over 3000-3150 fps. I'm at max. pressure with a lot slower powders with 180's at at least 100 fps down from the 3240 fps quoted. I'm not saying you aren't getting it, but you've got to be rather warm as far as pressure.

Perhaps someone could quickload a 180 with the about charge of 4350 out of a 300win; extra velocity isn't free pressure wise.

Lefty, Speer #14 list 72grns Imr4350 and 71grns H4350 under a 180 in 300wm, but I have yet to see charges even higher than that hit 3240 in 24-26" barrels. 7828 will do it with ease in a 28" pipe.

I recently tried some H4831sc in my 300 WM 215 grain berger load. I switched to a CCI 250 because I've seen it work well with 4831 in the past. I worked the load up to 73.0 grains and started shooting bugholes at 2840 fps.

I was previously using Retumbo for the 215 and the 230, but I noticed strange pressure spikes with the 215. The Retumbo / 230 load still works great.

I am shooting below the max, maybe my chronograph is off.

If it is too much pressure, then I guess I can get a better barrel when I ruin this one.

I know it's no an absolute standard, but my brass is showing no signs of pressure and my bolt opens fine. Idk.....

What is quickload?

The Hodgdon website lists 66.8gr as MAX with a Nosler E-tip. The IMR site lists 68.1 as MAX with the same bullet.

You should not use speer bullet data to make loads for nosler bullets.

Your loads are pretty warm.

Just bought RL 22. RL 25 and h4830( might be wrong on last. They are down
On the table. The non SC one)

Gonna try 25 first since it is a mag load and see how it does
