Looking for any info on the Berger 215 Hybrid target out of a 300WM or 300RUM. Load Data, Elevation, Barrel length, Velosity, powders used. I'm also interested in data on the Berger 230 Hybrid if you've tried it.

Thanks Wayne

I am shooting them out of my 300 rum sendero. Using gm215m primers and 90.2 grains of retumbo I am getting around 2950 fps. Coal of 3.790
Did you buy the bullets recently? You know of anywhere that has them?

I am also shooting them out of a Sendero in 300 RUM. 26" barrel. COAL 3.843", FED 215 Match Primer, MV 2985 fps, 91 gr H1000. I am at 1300 ft elevation. Very accurate load but not that impressed with the speed I am getting. Guess I need a longer barrel. All I can say is if you have some or can find some, try them; you will like them.

Thanks guys, I looked today everywhere & couldn't find them. Hopefully by Spring this craziness will slow down & I can find some.
I'm shooting the 208 Amax with great results but if I can push these 3000fps with their BC it will far out shine the Amax.
I'm shooting 91.5 of H-1000 at 2925 at 1300' elevation which was'nt max, & .5 accuracy.

I am not at max either. I should of stated that. I just stopped there because it shoots so good. Our velocities are similar, I thought you would be a little faster with the AMAX. I was thinking at first the chronograph was showing my speeds as to slow. But with 2985 fps entered into SHOOTER my drops are dead on out to 900 yds.

I've been told you get a little more speed with less powder because of less bearing pressure these bullets have so I'm hopeing if I push it a little more I can hit 3000, but still want the accuracy I'm getting with the Amax. With the high BC I'll gain 200yds in killing Energy if I get to 3000FPS.
I'm going to try these in my 300WM also.

Well speaking of a 300 WM. A friend and myself did a little comparison the other day. As I said before I am disappointed in my MV. We took my friends 300 WM and loaded some 215's in it and started to work up to a max load. We never did make it to over pressure. Just got to cold. I believe we were at 76 or 78 grains of H1000 and the 300 WM hit 2955 fps. Basically same MV as my 300 RUM with 13 grains less powder. The conditions were very cold and windy. We actually had to stop at times to see the 100 yard target because of blowing snow. Even in these conditions and wind all shots in load development were in a 1.25" group. I think we had them 50 thou off in his rifle. I guess the 300 RUM is just not very efficient.

I don't feel that I am pushing mine very hard either. I stooped at Berger's Max load (for 3.6 oal) and am getting great accuracy. Part of me wants to push these a bit harder but I don't really need to with half moa accuracy and 2950 fps. If I could find more I'd play a bit more. I only have 130 left and need to sight my new scope in and reconfirm drops while keeping enough to hunt with this year.

Bullblast, you talk like you won't be able to find any by fall for hunting season with all this crazieness. That's scary! I've got a good stash of everything I use now because of what happened with the Brady Bill, Clinton getting in, & Obamas 1st term. Even still you want to try something new your screwed, I'm hopeing this will settle down in 2-3 months, We'll See!!!

I had pressure signs on my300WM 5r 26" at 78-78.5gr of H1000 & 208s. My sendero 300RUM started pressure signs at 92.5gr H1000 & 208 Amax.

I am very concerned about not being able to find what I want. I am contemplating ordering enough 210 hunting vlds to last a long time because I see these disappearing fast also.
I emailed Berger and the 215 isn't on their schedule to produce... they schedule 9 weeks out. I don't know what to do...
Going to shoot some 210s this weekend to see what I get for grouping and velocity and may stick with them.

Ever thought of trying the 208 Amax, I think it will run with the 210 VLD. Much cheaper and very Accurate bullet BC .648. Not hard to get them to shoot well either. I get .5" groups in an 06, 300WM, 300RUM had both 300s out to 1400 this past summer & both held sub MOA groups. I'm thinking of just useing the high BC Berger 215 for hunting & pushing the throttle on it, hopefully it will shoot as well as the Amax. Hard to leave the Amax but that BC & added velosity with less bearing surface has me in test mode if I can find some. I got a smokein deal on 5000 208amax this last summer so I'm not leaveing them any time soon.

That 208 A-Max is a great one for sure. With a 26.5" tube 92g Retumbo I get 3050 out of the 300RUM. That is max for my gun with tight groups. I have a batch of the 230 Bergers I am looking forward to playing with. Have any of you guys taken them out for a spin with the RUM?

Armored Transport, I'd be very intrested in your results on the 230 Hybrid as thats what I was looking at first, awesome BC. Do you have any idea what speeds you can push these, with no excessive presure?

It's going to be in the 40's here tomorrow. If I can get to it I will load up 6....2-91,2-92,2-93g of the Retumbo and see what happens. I may get some pressure at 93. I would love to get 3000 safely but I may need a few more inches of barrel to get there. Those 230's are one nice looking slug....almost seems a shame to throw them into the dirt..gun)
