Today I chronograph ed my standard loads out of my 7 WSM today I have a Brux 26" SS 9" twist bbl. 69grs of Re#19 behind a Hornady 139gr SST produced an average muzzel velocity of 3550 ! I couldn't believe it ? I then shot my 22 auto pistol through the chronograph and it read 1100 fps and that was what it should've been. Then my 45 auto 890 fps so was that ! So thumbs up for Brux bbls !!!!

I might order a 7 wsm Brux barrel, I have a win model 70 built in 2004, what do I need to know to order one? I want to stay at 24".

Well you order a 7 mm BBL Blank of like 28" or 30"length and you tell them what contour ( That information is on their web page order form ) Mine is a #4 I wish I got a #5 a little fatter. Its up to your gunsmith to cut it to the length you want.

I don't know if Brux barrels are any faster than others. Myself and a friend just got our 22/284's finshed; with 28" Brux barrels. They seem on par with what other guys are getting as far as speed goes. We shoot the 80 Gr Berger at 3625 fps. Iron Worker does your Brux copper foul? Ours have not shown any copper fouling at all. Overall I am very impressed with these barrels.

You could build yourself a 7mm RUM with that barrel and get 4000 fps with a 139 gr bullet.

Like I said in my post I shot a 22 and a 45 through the chronograph and they recorded the correct velocity. The screens were 15 feet away and my bbl is braked.

I've got Lilja,Bartlein,Hart,Kreiger,Shilen barrels that get better than published velocity from 130fps up to almost 200fps more. I always figure maybe just got the right combination from length ,twist etc more so than one brand is faster than the other.

It's pretty easy to pick up if chronograph the start loads up to max loads. In my 280AI I can get max velocity 3grs under max load used a Lilja barrel. I do back my loads down to max velocity instead of the higher velocity maybe old school if I really wanted that maybe I should look at another build.

Lot of fun to build. Well good luck
