I have been reading about the ackley improved cartridges and have gathered that the shoulder on them increases accuracy due to improved powder burn. Would it be worth it to ream my 22-250 chamber to an ai chamber or will I not notice that great of an accuracy benefit?

The AI type chamber is added in order to increase powder capacity and velocity.

The main advantage to the AI shoulder is Brass life. The fact that they seem to be more accurate
is probably because they are custom chambers done by a Gun Smith instead of the factory has more to do with with the accuracy.

There is one issue that sometimes is a problem and that is feeding. The use of center feeding
normally solves this as it does in the WSMs and SAUMs.

I for one like the AIs, but do you need it for an already accurate and very fast cartrige like the
22-250 your guess is as good as mine.

A lot of money making the change for a little accuracy if any difference. My 22 250 shoots bug holes at 100 yards. Maybe a bit more speed out of the Ai. Just my oppinion and both are fantastic cartridges.

Keep in mind that, to do it right, the barrel has to be set back slightly to get the proper "crush fit" for the AI case. Simply running a reamer into your already cut chamber won't give optimum results. Also remember that you will need AI dies, which will be an added cost.

If you are in the process of a build or re-barrel, that is not a bad time to consider the change.
