How long is the barrel without the boss? And is there some sort of thread protector if you take the boss off? Or can you even take it off?

you can take the boss off and put on what they call a boss CR (for Conventional Recoil). it still allows you to adjust for bullet weight without the muzzle brake. my buddy has one on his 243 and he said with a little adjusting he can make just about any ammo group under 1"

It's a 24" barrel including the boss. The CR attachment coverts it back to a non muzzle brake, but you can still tune the barrel to tighten groups!!
This thing is a sub MOA gun!!! I just bought a .338, so I'm never really going to use it!!!

I owned both of them. the 325 is an excellent gun. harder to find factory ammo. Reloading can take care of that. Both are good choices.
