After all the deer, including two bucks were run out of the field from some guy that likes to stop and gawk. Oh ya, he can clearly see me sitting 150yds off the road in hunter orange.

Two minutes of legal shooting light left and three does walked out from a different area. Quick look through the rangefinder showed 168yds and with the mood that I'm now in, I have to release some frustration. Doe tag in my pocket.

Gently put the pressure on ol' "Bad Medicine's" 1.7# trigger and then through the scope, fire and smoke erupted from the barrel and then the WHOP. Sent that Barnes 250gr TMZ directly through the boiler room. She made it maybe 40yds and left a blood trail that looked like it was made by a mop.

Not one of the bucks but, doing my part to balance the herd. Maybe let off a little steam too. Nothing like the muzz.....

congrats on the great shot! my dad has a whitetail buck tag for muzzleloader and the season ends sunday night so we are going to try to put a 250 grain tmz through one this weekend. Took 5 years to draw the tag.

I wish you the best of luck. Here in Michigan, there are very liberal tags available. A combination license is purchased over the counter. It allows two bucks and within the area where I live, one license requires 3pts on one side and the second tag requires 4pts on one side.

As far as doe permits in this area, I can purchase five (5) permits PER DAY. Very liberal and have to be to control the herd.

Again....... I wish you the best of luck!

Wow 5 doe tags per day!! I would like to hunt a state that allows you to take a couple deer a day, would be a good way to test bullets :D gun). I hope ND can get the deer #s up that high, but i doubt they will, blue tongue has hit the mule deer hard the past couple of years.

Still hunting bucks and with a very good friend that wanted some venison over to hunt, put him in my "hide", straw bales in a picked been field, while I took a ladder stand deep in the woods. Perfect wind this evening for a change inside the woods.

Must have been a doe starting into late estrus, as I seen a buck chasing one quite away off through the woods. What a great evening start. Next thing I know, a doe and a couple fawns walk up within about 40yds and bed down. Now this is fun! Watching the sun slowly drop down below the tops of the trees, while watching a doe and fawns bedding. Of course I was hoping that other doe would bring that buck buy but, it never materialized and before it got to late, that doe and fawns got up and headed down a hill out of sight.

It wasn't only just a minute or two after they left, when there was the unmistakable sound of my friend's Pro Hunter firing. I remember giving a thumbs up. As I'd already taken a deer and was excited about him shooting, I headed back to the gator, put the rifle in the case and headed over towards the "hide".

He had a doe permit and he'd used it. Really nice doe that he harvested from the same spot, sending a Barnes TMZ right through the boiler room. Needless to say, he was happy as heck, as where he'd been hunting he wasn't seeing any deer. Nice when a plan comes together.......
