Hi all, I'm not only new to this forum but new to long range shooting too. I've hunted all my life and unlike my brother, I reall only like shooting rifles. I have several but want one just for long range. I really like .300, I have WSM but I think I'd like to get just a 300 Win Mag for this. I am looking at the Remington 700s, the Winchester 70s (my WSM is a 70), and the Weatherby Vanguard Series 2s. Whatever I buy I will put a Nikon on it and will probably not reload just yet. What are your opinions on the rifles? Thanks everyone!

Thanks for bringing that up! I never thought about them. I have a Savage 10 tactical in .223 with he bull barrel and it's a great shooting rifle. I'll check out the 110 and 111.

I'm a huge Savage fan, so I'm biased, but I think they make a totally awesome out of the box rifle that is also very easy to do mods on

I also love Savage rifles, my best groups with handloads in a savage 110 fcp hs 338 Lapua is .277 ctc at 100 yards, worst was .425 ctc. Not to bad for a factory gun!

I'm really liking the Savage 111 Long Range Hunter in .300 Win Mag. I'm gonna have to do some more research but I do like it.
