sweet model 70. I got a cpf m70 in 30.06 that needs some work here n there and was quoted 2770 dollars to redo. stock is to short, scope is to short and has power adjustment ring problem. but shoots very well. was quoted 690$ to have a bell and carlson stock built up to 15 lop. wow just wanted to keep it simple. any ideas. can it be redone in 7wsm or action to long?

Do have question that i hope someone can answer. what is the best way to send barreled action to one builder or barrel maker. without the worry of it being destroyed or stolen. was told one could use plastic gun cases you can buy at cabelas or sportsmans but they are wimpy and how do you seal them etc.. what would someone suggest. sorry its in the photo gallery but was in here and spotted that sweet model 70.

Thanks lazylabs for the information. I think that would work just fine to send out barreled action. Do you put anything else in tube for packing to keep action from moving around?

Wich brake is the RWS? Is that the brake Tim, & Randy offer?
I looked at thier website & was not overly excited, but I talked to A LOT of folks & they came highly recomended.
I e mailed them about having a Muscle brake installed, & as soon as we get our taxes back they will be installing a brake on my Model-70, 300 Wby.
Seeing your rig on here only gives me more confidence in all the great things I here about them. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks clemens. I have never had to ship a barreled action. It wouldnt hurt to put some bubble wrap in the tube if its moving around.

Hi winmag,

The brake is sold by a guy on snipershide. His screen name is RWS. I was just going to use it until I could find something else. I found the RWS brake works extremely well so I am going to leave it on. Im very happy with it.

I have been going to Tom and Randy for alot of years.. Randy has built me a couple rifles. Both have turned out excellent. No complaints.

Thankyou
