I just bought the dpms mark 12 in a .308. It has a 18 inch barrel with a 1:10 twist rate. Looking for the best powder using 168 bergers. Thanks

Hunting = 165 SGK BSP + 41.5 H4895 + 210M pr
Paper = 168 SMK + same powder and Pr.

On my new barrels I hand lap with JB compound(grey) using a tight patch and work back and forth short of the muzzlearound 100 times in 4 sesions of 25strokes each. Thoroughly clean and shoot 3 rounds and clean. Barrel should be good to go from there with light fouling. I have the 24" and the 18" DPMS and both shoot 3 shot groups at 1/2" to 3/4". Mine also shoots 175 and 180 gr SMK well.

Good luck and let us know how it does!

Try this:
168gr.
RL-15 {42.0grs}
CCI-#34 primer
Winchester case.
It should put you between 2525 fps to 2600 fps. from your 18 inch barrel.
