Has anyone used the Model Seven action to build a LR rifle?

I'm guessing the short nature of the action and the long high BC bullets would work against each other

I have two of them Both Model Seven Stainless, one in 7mm-08 and the other in 300 SAUM.

What would be a good bullet/ load in the 300 SAUM that would fit the Model seven mag?

Thanks

A good long range bullet for that caliber would be the 185 Berger VLD/Hybrid/OTM. The problem you are going to find as you have already guessed in length. I would suggest the OTM and Hybrid as they are not as susceptible to loading depth as the true target VLD. You should be able to load it deep and get away with find accuracy. I had a Model 7 in .243 I sold to my brother for his kids to use. I was planning on building a rifle for my own boy. But going to use a Savage instead.
