For all of the .270 WSM shooters out there:

What is your best all-purpose (target and hunting) load that you have found?

I am looking to try a couple of new loads out and would love to hear from some of the more experienced shooters.

140 gr. Accubond, 62.5 gr. Imr4350, Fed215, Win brass. 3150FPS. Model70 Winchester Supergrade, McMillan Stock. .25-.5 MOA.

This looks like it would be a fantastic load!

Have you been able to load a stable round in 140 or 150 gr. that consistently broke 3200fps while keeping a consistent p.o.i.?

140 Accubond over 63 gr of RL-19, .015 off the lands. Fed 215 primer.
I load for 3 270 wsm's, & every one of them likes Accubonds & between 61-64 gr of RL-19 around .010-.015
I've killed Bears with mine with exelent results. My cousin has killed Elk with this load in his, & if I can ever draw a deer tag, or antelope tag ill letcha know how the work on smaller critters too.
A lot of guys like 4350, & 4831. I only tried IMR 4831 with 150 sst's. Had great accuracy, but hated the terminal performance of the SST. So I swiched to the 140 Accubonds, & never looked back. Great allround bullet in the 270wsm.

The140 Accubond is about as all purpose as you can get in the 270 WSM, I like 71 gr of Retumbo in Rem cases lit with Fed 215's for 3340 fps in a 26in barrel. Thats a hot load in a 26in barrel, work up!!!

The tops is a 165 Matrix, 66gr of Retumbo in a Norma case lit with fed 215's for 3053 fps in a 27.5 in barrel, this load has been middle of the road I can go a few more grains but no accuracy.

Rem cases will handle a lot more, Norma won't take the pressure but is by far the best and Win is bottom of the heap.

My 270wsm load was the exact same only I had 66 grains of RL 19 out of a 24"bbl I was getting 3200 fps and 1/4" groups... i hate myself for getting rid of that gun.

I have a 270WSM load that is 69.5g of Retumbo with the 140g Accubond, Fed. 215 primer at about 2.870".

It shoots well and produces 3100FPS on a cool day in my Kimber 8400 with a 24" barrel(it measures 23" to the action). At 70g Retumbo the bolt lift starts to get a little sticky.

I can het a 140 up there with good accuracy, 150 gets a harder. Runs about 3100 to 3150. I have gotten there with IMR 7828 with good accuracy. Can remember my load weight. I'm not at home.it does fill the case though and is at max pressure.

Has anybody experimented with Burger .130 grain hunting bullets in the .270 WSM ? I'm wanting a good long range bullet that kills good.

The Bergers have to be single fed in my rifle, so I have not used them for hunting purposes - I like to have a follow-up shot ready if needed (or if a herd of pigs comes out).

I shot a decent buck with a Berger 130 in 270 WSM, It worked pretty well but it was only 303 yards.

I bought some of the Hybrid classic Hunter Bergers that are out now and am going to try developing a load with those and hunt this fall with them.

My 270 wsm likes 150 Nosler BT over 70.3 Magnum with a cci-200 and Winny brass. 3118 fps. Deer have been impressed.

My target load is 150 SGK over 62 H 4831. Sub 1/2 moa at 100 yds.

Enjoy

My GO TO gun has been a Sako A7 Stainless in 270WSM for quite a few years now. I have killed lots of critters with it from deer to elk to moose to bears. Everything with the same load 16 yard Elk right out to 500 yard moose

130 TTSX @ 3250 fps with 62.5 gr IMR 4350, Federal 210 primer.
