I have been looking pretty hard at rifles in 300 WM and i have decided that it has to have a muzzle brake for sure. I like the savage prices but not sure on their quality. Just not sure on which brand can shoot tighter goups. Any advise would be greatly appriciated.

I would do the Stevens thing that was explained to you on your other thread. Get yourself a good muzzle break. I like the Fat Bastard, APS (used this on a 338LM, works great) and the muscle break on this site should work great. Just pick one. As far as models, I would look into the 116 if you want the accutrigger, or you could buy one of their sporting actions. Call the factory and they will send you one. Another option would be to call Savage and have one built to your specs. Doesn't cost a whole lot more and will be what you want. You can mix and match parts that you like and want with in reason. The H-S or McMillian stocks they offer with the 116 action and varmint barrel would be a great set up. My one and only Savage accutrigger (mod 12) has some where in the realm of 5000 rounds on it between being a .308 Win and 300WSM over the past 3.5yrs. I switch the barrels myself.

Im in a similar position as the OP. When you say the Stevens thing do you mean buy the stevens model and just use the action to build? What thread was this explained in?
