I know this site and that show called the best in the west really pushes those Huskemaw scopes. What is the deal with those? With exception to that show and this site I have never heard of them. Are they really that great or are they just getting good advertisment?

There is a lot of info already on this site. I own three of them. Also own Nightforce, and Leupold Mark 4's. Yes they are excellent scopes. I find them to be at least equal and in some ways better, in terms of optics quality, turret precision, reliability, and some of the other features of the product.

The high end scope market is is a very small niche. You have bench rest guys, F class guys, tactical/sniper types and hunter types. These are the groups that are going to buy a high end scope. The bench rest crowd is looking for high magnification and fine adjustments and cross hairs. The Tactical guys are looking for durability and reliability. The F classers are probably somewhere in the middle. The percentage of hunters that use a $1000+ scope is small. I know there are some cross over into multiple groups, but I'm generalizing. IMO, the Huskemaw is marketed toward that small % of the hunting crowd. I'm sure they could do well in some, if not all, of the above mentioned groups, they just seem to be happy with thier portion of the high end scope market.

I just received an e-mail from Long Range Hunter on Huskemaw Scopes and found it to be spot on! I live in Northern New Mexico, 100 miles from Pagosa Springs, Colo. and 110 miles from Chama, New Mexico. This is the heart of big game hunting. Being retired, I work part time in a large independant Gun Store. I have the opportunity to try out all the major high end scopes. My thumbs down choice is HUSKEMAW due to simplicity, speed of use and ruggedness.
Last September, I went to South Africa where I took 6 head of Plains Game all one shot kills with a 270 WSM with 165 grain Matrix Bullet and a HUSKEMAW SCOPE. My longest shots was a Gemsbok @605 and a Blue Wildebeast @319. I am going back to Africa in May 2014. I will take two rifles, both with HUSKEMAW SCOPES. I own two 5x20 and one 3x12.
I also use a HUSKEMAW WIND METER. They are inexpensive and tuff as boot leather!
GOOD HUNTING AND BURN LOTS OF POWDER!!!

I love them I would not put another scope on one of my rifles! I own 5 including a 3x12 x42, and they work very well1 I have shot a steel target at 1760, and a mule deer buck @ 1185 last september. the glass is very clear and bright, great eye relief, and the turrents track perfectly every time. I feel they are the best longrange hunting scope on the market today.
