Any load data would help. 700 rem LA 28" rock creek #5.

Reamer set up for 140 berger vld at base of neck.

Thanks Jasongun)

I'm using Norma MRP2, 68gns, .005 jammed, 27" broughton barrel and shot a .461 at 300 yds at 3310fps. Shooting 140 bergers. H1000 also works well. Start out at 66gns and work up. Good luck!gun)

what primers are you useing. what vel are you geting with H-1000?

thanks Jason

not much info on the 6.5 saum.

just got mine going 61.0 imr 7828 3130fps shooting under .5 was looking for 3200 ish 3300 would be great.

was going to nitride it befor geting going on loads.

ever had a barrel nitrided?

thanks Jason

Yes, I've had a barrel nitrocarberized. Going to get this one done after Thanksgiving. I'm getting a little more speed out of H1000 than MRP2, 68gns around 3300 fps. You will get a little more speed after nitrocarberizing.gun)

thanks for the info. I will try them and see what i can get after I get it back from nitriding. have you played with the 6.5 wsm also?

Jason

one more question. was the nitride worth the ex cost and have you seen good barrle life after? what is your opion on this/ i am also working on a 6.5 wsm.

thanks Jason

The 6.5 saum out performs the 6.5 wsm. The saum as a shorter case but it must have a more efficient burn of powder. The carberizing does wonders to barrel life. One guy here has 4000 rounds the tube of his 7 saum and it still shoots like it's new.gun)

I'm also interested in what your load was for the H-1000. I have a 6.5 RSAUM and I'm having serious pressure problems at around 60gr 210M primer and .001 jump and chrono'ed at around 3200 w/ the 140 VLD.

Just as a side note I had a really good load worked up with RL-19 @ around 3150 fps (great accuracy with ES around 7fps or so) and this load loosend the primer pockets severely after just 2 reloads.

I've been hoping to reach the performance that you've gotten (3200+) with this cartridge but it seems like anytime I start to approach the 3100 mark I get pressure problems.

Thanks in advance

I have a load that shoots well 61.0 imr 7828 fed gm215m seated off lands 3150 ish was hoping to get 3200 also. going to get it nitrided befor I play any more with it.

I used 68gns of H1000 with BR2 primers. Sounds to me you have a tight bore. There was a guy around here that would do that by not lapping the bore right. It might be the barrel you have. The practice at the gun shop I go to is to fill the case up so it is compressed. Use as slow as powder as needed to do that. I will not use reloader powder! To sensitive to hot and cold temps.

I guess the tight barrel is a possibility but I just have a hard time believing that. It's a Krieger but it shouldn't be ruled out. I realize that the RL-19 is temp sensative but when I tested it in the summer with hot loads and loads that came out of a freezer the average only changed by about 47fps and I could deal with that when the ES was at most 7fps.

I know without a doubt I'll never get anywhere near 68gr...my starting load when playing with H-1000 was 63gr with a 215 primer and this produced 3250fps out of a 26" barrel but....smoke rolling out of the chamber, nearly locked the bolt, and completely blew the primer out of the case. Way too dangerous.

The problem I'm starting to run into is that my velocity SD and ES really starts to open up as I decrease the load charge.
