Does anybody have any insight into a swap of this kind? I'd like to have the magazine option but don't really know how, if it's possible, or if it's even worth it

You could get a BDL style stock and Quik Klip bottom metal which uses a detachable magazine and costs around $100-120. Converting over to the Remington factory DBM would require machining of your receiver and a stock specially inletted for the DBM. The Quik Klip option would be much more feasible.

The Quick Klip will only work with long-action non-magnum calibers, such as 270 win. and 30-06.

You can get the DBM kit from Cabels's for around $85.00 plus shipping. You will have to do some minor inletting in the ADL stock. Use a good Dremel tool, take your time and you'll get it done.
